This link will bring you to videos of teachers explaining and demonstrating blended learning strategies. Blended learning simply means the integration of technology into your content and instruction. A great framework to consider when blending learning is the TPACK Framework. This framework illustrates how technological, pedagogical and content knowledge should integrate in the classroom. In support of this transition, we will continue to promote and expand our use of Chrome. The default browser on all systems will be migrated to Chrome and consideration of transitioning all general purpose labs to auto-chrome is underway. Once this transition is complete, computers will start-up in Chrome and look like Chromebooks. It will be possible in the near term to exit auto-chrome and login to our Windows network. There are abundant resources online to begin exploring both Chrome and Google Docs. Please consider completing the Chrome Classroom Certification and submitting your certificate for 6 hours of PD credit to Paula Dillon. Paul Barrette, technology director in Smithfield, has also created a 21 Day Google Docs Challenge that’s a great way to gently step your way into becoming familiar and confident in all things Google Docs.
